    Licensing

Not sure if you can answer this, but what is up with the licensing for KanColle? It's a real puzzler to see Yamato in the AGP line while some of the other ships get articulated figures in the Figma line. Heck, GSC even has a couple of non-articulated Yamato statues. Very strange.

At any rate, I appreciate the thorough yet light-hearted review. I gather we won't be seeing your take on Shimakaze anytime soon (thank goodness).

    From what I have seen

From what I have seen, companies can and will license things out in whatever ways they want even if it seems completely arbitrary. The figma and AGP stuff doesn't even factor in that at this moment TakaraTomy ARTS is doing Microman style KanColle toys and that they have more popular characters like Kongou planned before either Bandai or Max Factory have shown off something similar.

    Exclusives

Oh, alright. I thought that there was some type of exclusivity that came with the license, such as the way GSC got to make figmas for the Strike Witches show, but then Bandai/AGP we able to make them for the OVAs (even though it was basically the same designs of the same characters; or likewise Nendoroids only for the Madoka show, but Cu-Poche for Movie 3). But I suppose an exclusive license is just one type of license, and KanColle can contract as they see fit. I guess we only learn the details when a specific situation clarifies them (such as the split in Valk licensing between Arcadia and Bandai).
